Wednesday, 17 July 2024

In 1981, a major industrial complex was built in Iran. The facility, which covered an area of 35 square kilometers, was situated in the heart of Iran, some 75 kilometers from the historic city of Isfahan. And this was how the Mobarakeh Steel Company, or the MSC, was born.

Today, the MSC is recognized as the largest steel manufacturing complex of Iran. Through continuous efforts by experts of the manufacturing team, today the Mobarakeh Steel Company has turned into the largest producer of flat steel sheets in the Middle East and Northern Africa and has gained an outstanding position as one of the largest producers of sponge iron, or DRI, in the world.

Isfahan’s MSC currently runs a fully integrated production line, from iron ore mining to finished products, including high-quality steel sheets. Since the beginning of its operation, this industrial complex has sold over 137 million tons of products in both domestic and foreign markets and exported over 24 million tons of products to different countries worldwide.

Figures show that the MSC has sold about 7.4 million tons of products only in 2022 and has exported about 1.2 million tons of products overseas. The Mobarakeh Steel Company continuously works to maintain its strategy of up-to-date and effective management with a vision towards sustainable growth and development.

For its part, the complex has received the Golden Statue of National Organizational Excellence Award, the Golden Statue of European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in 2018, in addition to the Global MIKE Award. The MSC has received other significant awards and titles over recent years, which include the number one title for Best Sales Index in the Base Metal Group, according to IMI 100 in 2022, the Environment-Friendly Company Award in 2015 for Water Consumption Management, as well as a certificate for Cooperation in Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Project from the World Steel Association, the Iran National Quality Award for Tin-Plated Products in 2019, the leading title and second rank for the highest added value and profitability indices, and finally, for the first time in the Middle East, being recognized among the top 25 knowledge-based companies in Asia, next to industrial giants like Samsung and Toyota.

In order to further complete its qualitative and quantitative production chain and to mark an effective presence in both domestic and international markets, the MSC has placed in its agenda the construction of the second phase of its hot rolling project, in collaboration with three major companies, namely Xi’an, Kason, and Faratahghigh. The operational phase of this project officially kicked off on August 15, 2022 and was scheduled for completion within 32 months.
