According to the list of sister cities of Isfahan, Kuwait City—the capital of Kuwait—was officially designated as a sister city of Isfahan on June 19, 2000.

The culture of handicrafts in Kuwait is an important part of the country’s heritage and includes Al-Sadu weaving as well as metalwork and decorative arts.

Although Kuwait is not as historically renowned as Iran or other ancient regional civilizations in the field of metalwork, the production of decorative metal, brass, and bronze artworks for domestic use and export does exist, showing that metal crafts in this country have also developed.

طبق فهرست شهرهای خواهر («سِستر سیتی») شهر اصفهان، شهر کویت‌‑سیتی (پایتخت کشور کویت) در تاریخ ۱۹ ژوئن ۲۰۰۰ به‌عنوان شهر خواهر اصفهان تعیین شده است.

فرهنگ صنایع دستی در کویت، بخشی از میراث فرهنگی این کشور است و شامل بافندگی «السدو» (‫Al‑Sadu weaving) و همچنین هنرهای فلزی و تزئینی می‌شود.

اگرچه کویت به اندازه ایران یا کشورهای باستانی منطقه، در حوزه فلزکاری تاریخی معروف نیست، اما تولید آثار تزئینی فلزی و برنج/برنز برای مصارف داخلی و صادراتی وجود دارد و نشان می‌دهد صنایع دستی فلزی در این کشور نیز رشد یافته است.

استفاده از فلز + شیشه در این هدیه نیز نشانگر ترکیب هنر مدرن‌تر با نمادسازی شهری می‌باشد: مثلا برج‌های ظاهراً نمادین (در تصویر، سه «برج» طلایی روی پایه) ممکن است نماد skyline یا نمادی از کویت یا شهر خواهرخوانده باشد.
