A commemorative gift presented by the Ambassador of Spain from the sister city of Barcelona to the Municipality of Isfahan in the year 1999
The sister-city agreement between Isfahan and Barcelona was signed on 14 January 1999.
At that time, the Mayor of Isfahan was Mohammad-Ali Jowadi, and the Mayor of Barcelona was Joan Clos i Manté. According to reports, the two mayors formally signed the sister-city agreement.
Historical Narrative of the Artifact
The Tramvia Blau (“Blue Tram”) is one of the oldest operating tram lines in Europe and a significant icon of Barcelona’s urban transportation heritage. Launched in 1901, the line connects the Avinguda Tibidabo neighborhood to the foothills of Mount Tibidabo, and it has remained a cultural landmark, a tourist attraction, and a living testament to the golden age of electric transportation in Europe.
The gifted sculpture is a finely crafted miniature representation of this historic tram, featuring detailed metalwork, arched windows, the original chassis structure, and its distinctive pantograph. It was presented to the Mayor of Isfahan at the time as a symbol of friendship, intercity cooperation, and the enduring cultural ties between Iran and Spain.

توافقنامه خواهرخواندگی در تاریخ ۱۴ ژانویه ۱۹۹۹ امضا شده است.

شهردار بارسلونا در آن زمان: ژوان کلوس ای مانتو
این دو نفر بنا بر گزارش، قرارداد خواهرخواندگی را امضا کردهاند.
روایت تاریخچه اثر: «ترام وای بلو» (Tramvia Blau) یکی از قدیمیترین خطوط فعال تراموا در اروپا و از نمادهای مهم حملونقل شهری بارسلوناست. این خط که در سال ۱۹۰۱ افتتاح شده، محله Avinguda Tibidabo را به دامنه کوه تیبیدابو متصل میکند و از گذشته تا امروز بهعنوان جاذبهای گردشگری و یادگار عصر طلایی حملونقل برقی اروپا شناخته میشود. مجسمه اهدایی، نسخهای کوچکشده و هنری از این وسیله تاریخی است که با جزئیات دقیق شامل بدنه فلزی، پنجرههای قوسی، شاسی و پانتوگراف طراحی شده و بهعنوان نمادی از دوستی، همکاری شهری و استمرار ارتباطات فرهنگی میان ایران و اسپانیا به شهردارِ وقتِ اصفهان اهدا گردیده است.
