On June 21, 2024, the founding meeting of the Association of Cities and Municipalities of BRICS+ Countries was held in the city of Kazan.

This association, titled “Association of Cities and Municipalities of BRICS+ Countries,” was officially established as an international platform for cooperation between cities and municipalities in BRICS member and partner countries.

The central pillar of this association is the city of Kazan and its mayor, Ilsur Metshin. Kazan served as the host of this event and the place where the association was first constituted.

Representatives from more than 20 countries and over 200 urban delegates attended the meeting, including those from BRICS member and partner countries.

Kazan has previously been a hub for international urban cooperation and has hosted major global-scale municipal events.

Since the association is called “BRICS+”, it includes not only the core BRICS members (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) but also partner countries.

یادبود از نشست شهر های عضو بریکس

در تاریخ ۲۱ ژوئن ۲۰۲۴ در شهر کازان، نشست موسسِ انجمن شهرها و شهرداری‌های کشورهای عضو BRICS+ برگزار شد.

این انجمن با عنوان «Association of Cities and Municipalities of BRICS+ Countries» به عنوان یک بستر بین‌المللی برای همکاری بین شهرها و شهرداری‌ها در کشورهای عضو و شریک BRICS، رسماً راه‌اندازی شد.

رکن مرکزی این انجمن، شهر کازان و شهردار آن، ايلسور متشين (Ilsur Metshin) هستند. این شهر میزبان این رویداد و محل انتخاب اولیه شده است.

انجمن بیش از ۲۰ کشور و بیش از ۲۰۰ نماینده شهری حضور داشتند، از جمله از کشورهای عضو BRICS و کشورهای شریک.

شهر کازان پیش از این نیز مرکز همکاری‌های بین‌المللی شهری بوده است و برگزارکننده نشست‌های بزرگ در سطح شهری جهانی شده است.

با توجه به اینکه انجمن «BRICS+» نامیده می‌شود، یعنی نه تنها اعضای اصلی BRICS (برزیل، روسیه، هند، چین، آفریقای جنوبی) بلکه کشورهای شریک نیز در آن مشارکت دارند.
